Canada’s second largest Douglas fir tree may have been found
near Port Renfrew

It is official. It’s been confirmed by the Ministry of Forests, Lands and Natural Resource Operations that the
Douglas Fir tree standing alone in a clearcut near Port Renfrew is the second largest tree in the country. ‘Big
Lonely Doug’ has been measured and is 230 feet high, with a circumference of 39 feet.
